Who is the IY Chess Academy for?

The IY Chess Academy welcomes anyone interested in learning chess, whether for enjoyment or with the goal of competing.

What are the levels of classes offered?

We offer three main levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Beginners learn the fundamentals, while the Intermediate level focuses on tactics and strategy. Advanced classes delve deeper into complex strategies to elevate students’ skills.

How long is each session?

Each coaching session runs for 1 hour

What’s the typical class size?

Classes typically consist of 10-12 students, fostering a focused and interactive environment.

What if I miss a class?

We offer multiple session options throughout the week, so if you miss one, you’re welcome to join any other available session on a different day. However, this is subject to availability of slots in the batch.

What is the minimum age for enrollment?

IY Chess Academy accepts students aged 5 and above.

How do I know which level is right for me?

If you’re new to chess, you’ll start in the Beginner level. For those with prior experience, we’ll assess your skills and place you in the appropriate level.

When can I start?

Once registered, we’ll inform you of your start date, usually within 2 weeks of signing up or as part of a new batch.

Who are the coaches?

Our experienced IY Chess Academy coaches bring years of teaching expertise, with some having competed at the national level and trained Olympic team for FIDE Olympiad.

What if I want to revise a lesson?

You can easily revisit and reinforce concepts on our learning platform, where pre-uploaded videos and practice exercises are available for each lesson. This allows you to review and practice anytime, at your own pace.
